Through GMK’s Construction Services’ ongoing program management work for Richmond County Schools in Augusta, GMK oversaw the completion of the new Science/Math and Cyber Addition to the historic Academy of Richmond County (ARC) High School.

Spanning four years from concept development through completion, this approximately $19M renovation/addition to the oldest existing public school in the Southern U.S. (and the sixth oldest in the United States) covers 58,000 square feet with 36 new instructional units (including 16 technology and science labs). The designs highlight the blend of modern spaces with the existing historic structure.
