Through GMK’s Construction Services’ ongoing program management work for Richmond County Schools in Augusta, GMK oversaw the newly completed renovation and addition to the John S. Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School! This 2-phase project totaling approximately $13M in construction included renovations and infrastructure upgrades to the existing building and a new state-of-the-art 16,000-sf addition in support of the school’s academic and fine arts curriculum. Spaces in the addition consist of a ballet/dance studio (with production lights, sound booth, and control room), a locker room, a “newsroom” TV studio/classroom, a dance classroom, an art room, a science laboratory/flex space, 2 additional classrooms, a computer lab, and administrative suite offices. The project further entailed parking lot and building access improvements.

This public magnet school located in downtown Augusta has been recognized as a National Grammy Signature School, has been ranked as the #1 school in the state of Georgia, and has placed in the top 100 tier of Newsweek's “America's Best High Schools.”
